Newborn Baby Impressions
If you are wanting to create a special impression of your newly born baby, this is definitely possible with the kit. Depending on how old the baby is, you may need to manage your expectations with what you are able to capture. We have received impressions now from newborn babies on the day of birth, a few weeks old and a few months. In each case, a beautiful impression was captured. We have had a light fingerprint, a finger outline and even the tiny fingernail pushed into the wax. It was truly amazing!
Struggling to get a fingerprint?
There are a few things that you can do to be mindful. One thing is to make sure that you push the fingerprint straight down and up. Any movement left or right can distort the impression.
I've also seen people have more success when shaping the wax first in warmer water and pushing it into a rough shape. You can then let it cool which should make it a little firmer to push a finger in with a little extra force.
When using the kit with a newborn, it does also depend on how developed the prints are. Typically, it can take a few months to properly develop and firm up enough for a perfect impression. If you are still struggling, it may be worth waiting a few extra weeks. We hate to say it, but it'll be worth the wait 🤩

Fingernail or Finger Outline
You can capture a tiny fingernail or finger shape impression. Honestly, we've seen a few now and they are so special. The process is the same, just carefully push the finger down into the wax, and directly back up. Simply, beautiful.
There is loads of space to be creative. The wax can be re-rolled into a ball if you'd like to start again. No pressure!
