What is "Lost Wax Casting"?

Here at CAST, we take your wax creations and transform them to metal by employing the ancient process of 'Lost Wax Casting'.

The journey:

1. Each jewelry piece is carefully attached to a tree of castings
2. We mount this tree inside a vacuum canister and mold it using casting plaster
3. Once set, we heat up the plaster to melt out the wax, leaving a perfect empty cavity of your design. The wax is destroyed (a.k.a. lost)!
4. Again, in another vacuum, we fill the plaster canister with molten precious metal (i.e. 925 silver, gold etc)
5. Leave to cool
6. Dissolve the plaster in acid, cut each jewelry piece away and get to work cleaning and finishing your unique jewelry design to your specifications.
